Subdivision and refurbishment of Victorian house, 2001.

The brief called for the sub-division of the three-storey house into a ground-level apartment and town house overhead, with direct access to the rear garden. Restoration, fire-proofing, sound-proofing of existing windows and new finishes and fittings were required. Conservation of existing historic features provided a challenge given the extensive changes in use. The upper dwelling benefits from the beautifully proportioned original spaces kept intact.
